ABOUT THE PROJECT
The City of Boca Raton is creating a land use and urban form plan for the northwest sector of the city, particularly focused upon the area known as the Light Industrial Research Park (LIRP). A land use and urban form plan is a master plan for the redevelopment of an urbanized area which provides recommendations and frameworks for physical design, economic growth, modifications to infrastructure and transportation systems, and changes to land use policies and regulations. This urban design process for LIRP will support the concepts and policies recommended by the recent Multi-modal Transportation District (MMTD) studies. The Boca Raton Concurrency Strategy White Paper, along with the recommendations from the MMTD study, provide the basis and background concepts for the urban form plan; therefore, the plan will provide the City with an example of the physical implementation of the MMTD policies, goals, and objectives.
